For the past several years, the Nassau Regional Office has held a New and Early Career Conference for educators who are brand new to the profession or in their first five years of employment. Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, however, NYSUT is currently unable to do any large, in-person conferences this school year.

Because they know from experience that this conference addressed topics that new and early career educators need and want to know about, they are offering most of the conference workshops in a series of one-hour online workshops throughout the year. In addition, they are offering a three-hour seminar presented by NYSUT’s Education and Learning Trust towards meeting the requirements for certification, as well as the Student Debt Clinic presented by Cambridge Credit Counseling which is open to all.

NYSUT hopes that members, especially the new and early career members, will take advantage of the excellent opportunity that is being offered.
